The Surgeon
Once upon a time, a boy was very ill. His father rushed him to the hospital where the attending doctor said that the boy needed emergency surgery for his appendicitis.
Unfortunately, the surgeon was not at the hospital at the time. The father was frantic and asked the staff to call him quickly. When the staff called the surgeon, he said that he was busy, and could not come. But after listening about the boy's condition, he agreed to come.
Aftar one hour, the surgeon rushed into the hospital in hurry, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block. He found the boy's father pacing in the hall waiting
for the surgeon.
On seeing him, the father yelled, "Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son's life is in danger? Don't you have any sense of responsibility?"
The surgeon smiled and said, "I am sorry, I wasn't in the hospital and I came as fast as I could after receiving the call and now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work".
"Calm down?I What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies while waiting for the surgeon then what would you do?" said the father angrily. The surgeon smiled again and replied, "We will do our best and lets hope for the best".
"Hah! Its just a job for him, he doesn't care about my son!" Murmured the father
The surgery took some hours after which the surgeon went out happy. "Thank goodness! your son is saved! " And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running by saying, "If you have any questions, ask the nurse".
"Look at how he's rushing away! Why is he so arrogant? He couldn't wait a while so that I ask about my son's state" Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the surgeon left. The nurse answered, tears rolling down her face, "His son met with an accident yesterday. He was at another hospital when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to go back to his son's bedside."
Moral: Never judge anyone because you never know how their life is and what they are going through.

Struggles of Our Life
Once upon a time a daughter complained to her father that her life was miserable and that she didn't know how she was going to make it. She was tired of fighting and struggling all the time. It seemed just as one problem was solved, another one soon followed. Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen He filed three pots with water and placed each on high fire.
Once the three pots began to boil, he placed potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and ground coffee beans in the third pot. He then let them sit and boil, without saying word to his daughter. The daughter, moaned and impatiently waited, wondering what he was doing. After twenty minutes be turned off the burners. He took the potatoes out of the pot and placed them in a bowl. He pulled the eggs and placed them in a bowl, He then ladled the coffee out and placed it in a cup.
Turning to her, he asked. "Daughter, what do you see?"
"Potatoes, egg and coffee," She hastily replied.
"Look closer", he said, "and touch the potatoes. "
She did noted that they were soft.
He then asked her to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, he asked her to sip the coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to her face.
"Father, what does this mean?" she asked.
He then explained that the potatoes, the eggs and coffee beans had each faced the same adversity-the boiling water. However, each one reacted differently. The potato went in strong, hard and unrelenting, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak. The egg was fragile, with the thin outer shell protecting its liquid interior until it was put in the boiling water. Then the inside of the egg became hard. However, the ground coffee beans were unique. After they were exposed to the boiling water, they changed the water and created something new.
Which one are you?" he asked his daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
